Colour is his element, his passion are painting and stage design. Ulrich Welter's aim is to create three-dimensionality for the image – to design the room as images and to make the image accessible.
After completing orders for the film industry, Ulrich WELTER founded the MANUFAKTUR FÜR WANDUNIKATE in 1985 and began with the development and implementation of own conceptual ideas. The focus of the first years was on the provision of high-quality wall design locally, directly at the customer's premises. Since 1995 Ulrich WELTER has been fabricating hand-painted unica wall cladding in his workshops. The ambition of his orchestration is to test the limits of design. The question concerning the finesse: how does something light have a dark effect, how can contrasts be unified or what happens when a mat surface is turned into a shiny one – these are the questions that engage him, that open up new perspectives.
Multi-facet design possibilities call for multi-facetted staff. He has found exactly this team which is made up of qualification, experience and creativity. No matter whether wallpaper is applied or work done directly on walls, the creative working methods are essential. They arise from the customer's request and the room and not least its architectonic possibilities. From the very beginning the company WELTER allowed contemporary ideas to flow into its work.
Only those keeping all senses clear may feed the myth of time, will find the trends and in the mutual cross-fertilisation themselves become trend setters. They can then for their part influence contemporary taste. The multi-facetted experiences gained in individual orders have been included in the WELTER working methods. This rich pool is wonderful to draw on.
