Wandunikate for fireplaces — when fire deserves a frame

A fireplace is more than a source of warmth. It is the point at which a room comes to rest – and it is precisely here that a handcrafted wall surface unfolds its full effect. Welter Wandunikate frame the hearth in such a way that the light of the flame is multiplied in thousands of reflections: in hand-set glass beads, in broken minerals, in fine metal leaf.

Materials that work with the light

For the fireplace wall we choose surfaces that take in warm light and return it transformed. Chameleon Beads and 7 Star Paneele create a living play of light and dark; craquelure lays itself over the surface like a finely cracked sheet of ice; gold leaf lends the room a quiet, noble warmth. Every variant is temperature-stable, fire-tested and adapted by hand to the measurements of the architecture.

Whether a freestanding fireplace in a penthouse apartment, a three-sided gas fireplace in a hotel lobby or a classic hearth in a listed villa – we develop the Wandunikat in close coordination with architects, interior designers and clients. From the on-site measurement through the material sample to installation by our own craftspeople, every step is in one hand.
